The Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) is the state-level engineering and pharmacy entrance exam conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB). It is the primary gateway for admission to 130+ engineering colleges in Gujarat, including government institutions, aided colleges, and private universities.
GUJCET 2026 is scheduled for March 29, 2026 — just 11 days from now. Results are expected in May 2026, followed by ACPC counselling. With approximately 1.26 lakh candidates appearing in 2025, competition for top colleges like LDCE and DA-IICT is intense — only 1,279 students (about 1%) scored 99+ percentile.
What makes GUJCET unique compared to MHT CET, WBJEE, or KCET is its 60:40 composite merit formula — your Class 12 marks carry more weight than your GUJCET exam score in the final ACPC merit rank. This means a student with excellent board marks but average GUJCET performance can outrank someone who aced GUJCET but performed poorly in Class 12.
Student B ranks higher than Student A despite scoring 15 marks less in GUJCET — because their Class 12 marks were much better. This is why GUJCET toppers also need to ensure strong Class 12 performance for good ACPC ranks.
After GUJCET results, the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) conducts centralized admissions for all participating colleges. ACPC maintains two merit lists: one for GUJCET candidates and one for JEE Main candidates (for 5% reserved seats).
